Let’s Party!!!
In celebration of Eliana turning one (I can’t believe MY BABY is ONE!!), we had a little party at the house. We did a luau theme because those were the decorations on sale and I am against characters. Someday I won’t be able to escape Dora or Diego or Barney or whatever the “in” thing is, but for now, I make the rules! Ha ha ha ha (evil laugh)!!
So party. Right. We invited a few friends and BBQ’d some hotdogs and hamburgers. Nothing fancy. My aunt and cousins were able to come which rocked since we don’t see them much and they’re the only family we have around here. There were no party games or anything like that since Eliana was the only kid (ok, my cousins are 15 and 10, so not babies). Eliana ran around like a crazy girl soaking up the attention while Tony BBQ’d and I ran around like a crazy lady trying to play hostess. And really, it went great. Just what I wanted and I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
I’m lying. There are a few things I would change.
Note the shiny-ness that is my face. I put on the invite that the party started at 12 noon. Who shows up on time to a party? Everyone. Everyone showed at the EXACT SAME TIME. Which was right before I was going to put my make-up on, so I skipped it. I would have changed that. I would have made everyone show up 10 minutes late like a good party-goer should and then I would not be shiny.
Not the queen of smash, my daughter. She’s so friggin’ DAINTY and I had to shove her hand in to get a “smash” picture and it wasn’t even a good one.

See? WTH kid? You’re supposed to get messy! That’s why I got a CHOCOLATE cake.
Good thing she sure looks cute.

Exhibit C:
There is no exhibit c. Cuz my camera battery died during the present opening portion. I got a few, but not many. Here’s 1.

It’s a tomato. Or tomahto. Your choice.
Happy Birthday, Eliana!

You’re not shiny, you’re glowing!
What is it about kids and cake smeared all over their faces that’s just so darn cute? Happy Birthday Eliana!
